Opening Reception at the Starlight Room
Sunday, June 25th 8:00pm — 11:00pm
Kicking off the retreat in swanky style, you will be able to network the night away at our Opening Reception. We’ll be living it up at the posh Starlight Room, located at the penthouse level of the Sir Francis Drake hotel. You’ll be greeted by red-suited beefeaters, who will open the double doors for you just as they did in 1928. When you arrive on the 21st floor, you can indulge in 360 degree city views as you sip your welcome champagne cocktail.
While you mix and mingle, sample hot hors d’ouvres and hip cocktails by local mixologists. Crab cakes and lamb chops are just a few of the delectables to savor while admiring the art deco interiors of this old-school lounge. Will it be a three-four-five Manhattan or a Makers Mark while you dine on prime rib and roast turkey in this icon of San Francisco nightlife? It’s up to you—it’s open bar.
After a sumptuous dinner, mini cupcakes and coffee will be served while you admire the twinkling lights of the soaring city skyline. But the drinks won’t stop flowing—network with your friends and make some new ones too. We want to start you off at the top.
Yacht Dinner Cruise
Monday, June 26th 7:30pm — 10:30pm
Chauffeur Driven has chartered a private yacht for your cruising pleasure Monday night. Step aboard the San Francisco Spirit and be treated to a welcome cocktail as you take in the skyline views on this expansive 150-foot beauty. Our extravagant evening will include a three-course dinner and drinks while you revel in sites along the San Francisco Bay. We’ll indulge in unobstructed views of city landmarks like the Transamerica pyramid tower, Alcatraz Island, and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge framed by sweeping cliffs. You’ll have the opportunity to network with your old friends and mix it up with new ones, all set to music at sunset.
Napa Valley Winery Tours
Wednesday, June 28th
8:45am ... Meet for Napa Valley Winery Tours
10:30am — 5:00pm ... Napa Valley Winery Tours
7:00pm ... Return to Hotel Nikko
Like the fine vintages of California, we finish this year’s retreat strong with an indulgent day trip to legendary Napa Valley. On Wednesday morning, we depart San Francisco in comfort and style on Grech buses with coffee and a breakfast on the go. You’ll experience world-class wines, historic surroundings, and miles of picturesque landscape as we visit three different renowned wineries, while also making a stop at Napa Ford Lincoln for a delicious catered lunch (and more vino). Custom Napa winery tours—which include three tastings, breakfast, lunch, and chauffeured transportation—could easily total hundreds of dollars, but we’ve included it as part of your retreat pass at no extra cost. We’ve selected to divide you into more intimate groups in order for everyone to forge stronger connections and get more personalized experience. Before ending your visit at each stop, our retreat goers are entitled to a 10 percent discount at the respective winery gift shops, making it even more fun to shop for those bottles and souvenirs to bring home. Cheers.
Over 25 years ago, Spain's oldest winemaking family ventured to a new world. History abounds at Artesa and throughout our tour, you’ll see artifacts dating back to the 1500s. After being greeted with a flute of Grand Reserve Sparkling Brut Rose (retail $50 per bottle), a wine educator will teach us about the Carneros region and the vintages it is known for--we will enjoy a private tour of the grounds, warehouse, production and the barrel room where our private tasting of three hand-selected Reserve wines will occur amid the ambiance of the old world.
While in the barrel room, you’ll hear the chanting of the Benedictine monks. In keeping with the old world tradition, the songs of the monks are said to have a positive effect on the grapes and wine-making process. From the observation deck one can indulge in 360 views, on a clear day you can see San Francisco and the Bay bridges, Mt Tamalpais, Mt Diablo and San Pablo Bay. Don’t miss this photo opportunity—bring your selfie stick!
You know the name for a reason. In 1876, brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer started with a dream of making wines that would rival the finest in Europe. Upon arrival at the vineyards, we’ll be greeted with a splash of wine before we start the tour up to the caves.
Our private experience will include the detailed history of the Beringer family and this oldest continually running winery in Napa Valley. We’ll sample a second vintage in the caves, surrounded by historic tunnels and aged barrels. As an added feature, we’ll be able to indulge in a barrel tasting—if you have never done this before, the barrel tasting allows us to sample a future vintage before it has gone to bottle. It is an exclusive experience for wine sophisticates. Finally, you can’t help but be impressed by Rhine House mansion—we’ll stop here for our last splash. Be sure to get a picture here amongst the vineyards outside to make all your friends at home jealous.
Founded in 1964, Sterling Vineyards is an experience unto itself. Perched 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, Sterling Vineyards offers panoramic views of Napa Valley. We’ll be tasting four of their exclusive wines and following the winemaking process from grape to glass at our own pace. The winemaking team believes that the wines should express true varietal character; the resulting vintages have exceptional quality that shine anywhere. All of this makes it easy to see why Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in the Napa Valley.
Their tram is the only one of its kind in Napa valley, offering stunning views as groups ride to or from the winery. During your Sterling experience, you will enjoy an aerial gondola ride, a self-guided tour of the winery, and scenic views from the terraces. Sterling’s diamond mountain plaza overlooks the entire valley and is the perfect place for a panoramic picture.
